14 - 19 Work-related Learning Policy and Guidelines

These guidelines include an overview of 14-19 reforms affecting the development of work related learning, plus operational guidance on legal aspects, quality and maximising learning outcomes in a range of settings. They apply to LA maintained schools, FE colleges and training organisations managing learners, and constitute good practice for non maintained schools seeking guidance in this area.

This framework, Economic Wellbeing 11-19: career, work-related learning and enterprise replaces the nine-element framework for work-related learning developed in 2003 to support the statutory requirement at key stage 4. It takes account of the government's 14-19 reform programme, the strategy for enterprise, and developments in careers education, information, advice and guidance
