Workforce Development
The Humber EBP offers ongoing workforce development for primary and secondary teaching and support staff, training providers, Connexions Personal Advisers and Careers Advisers, College Tutors and City Learning Centre staff across the Humber sub-region.
Workforce development support can take the form of:
- a group placement ie a day long programme incorporating a network meeting, in a company or organisation relevant to the subject area OR
- a bespoke placement specifically designed requested by the individual to support clearly identified aims and objectives
A placement is defined as a period of time spent for professional development within a company or organisation.
A placement is:
- ideally between one and five days duration
- planned, structured and focused – to achieve the learning objectives and maximise the outcomes
- flexible – arranged to suit the individual and host organisation
A placement can:
- refresh and update the individual’s current knowledge
- act as a stimulus for classroom material and subject enrichment
- provide opportunities for sustainable links with business
- support the development of leadership and management skills
All placements should provide opportunities to develop resources for student based work related learning.
LMI and Workforce Development
The world of work and the needs of employers are changing ever more rapidly. Young people need to be able to understand general labour market trends and how to access relevant sources of information, whilst practitioners want to be kept up to date on the needs of employers. The Humber EBP has developed a range of LMI resources to support both teaching practitioners and young people.. To discuss your LMI needs in more detail, please contact Anne Shaw, LMI Development Manager on 01482 611847, or email anne.shaw@eastriding.gov.uk
