The Humber Education Business Partnership
The Humber EBP provides a service linking education and business across the four Local Authorities of the Humber Sub Region, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. The EBP coordinates a number of programmes including:
- The development and delivery of a nationally recognised and accredited work experience programme including development of health and safety and child protection policies and procedures
- Design and delivery of high quality staff workforce development opportunities linked to employers
- Consultancy for schools on the design and delivery of the statutory work related learning and enterprise curriculum
- Support for Diploma partnerships in preparation for Gateway proposals
- Employer engagement across a range of activities and to support curriculum, diploma and workforce development programmes
- A Labour Market Information website with supporting curriculum materials and resources www.lmihumber.co.uk
In each of the 4 areas the EBP has strong links with Economic Development and can provide a balance of local and sub regional expertise.
Area Managers have:
- strong working relationships with their schools
- regular communication with local businesses
- an understanding of local businesses and their skills needs
The EBP is responsive to the differing priorities of their individual Local Authority 14-19 Strategic Plans.
At a sub regional level the EBP:
- has extensive knowledge of Labour Market Information and economic priorities linked to employment trends, opportunities and investments
- provides a comprehensive range of support for the work experience programme through staff development, training and advice and guidance ensuring that provision is fully compliant with emerging legislation
- has been awarded the National Education Business Partnership Network Quality Assurance Standard for the delivery of a high quality service to schools and businesses and accreditation for the management of the work experience programme through CEI University of Warwick
Partners include: Aimhigher Humber, Connexions Humber, Consortium for Learning, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull City Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council, Humber Economic Partnership, Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, Yorkshire Forward, Young Enterprise, STEMpoint, CSkills, YHELLN.
The Awards are aimed at recognising businesses, young people, teachers and their schools and colleges for their achievements and outstanding support.
